Application steps

  1. Confirm eligibility: 1+ year in the same industry, income of 2x Korea's GNI per capita, age 18+
  2. Prepare documents: employment/business proof, income proof, criminal record check, medical insurance (₩100M+ coverage)
  3. Submit the F-1-D application at the Korean embassy/consulate in your country of residence (no in-country status change)
  4. Enter Korea after approval; the initial stay is 1 year
  5. Before expiry, apply at a Korean immigration office for a 1-year extension (2 years max total)
