International Digital Talent in Chiayi
A county and national-council joint program pairing AI tech showcases with Alishan cultural trips, folded into the national "Peak of the Tropic" flagship plan.
Run jointly by Chiayi County's Department of Cultural Affairs and Tourism and the National Development Council's Nomad Taiwan office, the program is centered on the "Chiayi Culture-Tech Innovation Base" in Warehouse East 5 of the old sugar refinery, linking Taibao, Puzi, and Minxiong — towns suited to dual-residence living. It has drawn nearly 30 international remote workers from Japan, Korea, Europe, and the US, who've joined local youth at a Code for Taiwan Summit to discuss urban competitiveness in the AI era. On the cultural side, a "Top 100 Culture Bases" trip series takes participants into Alishan's Tsou tribal villages, the Mayasvi ceremonial path in Dabang, Tefuye village, and the old street at Fenqihu. The program is now part of the Executive Yuan's national "Peak of the Tropic" flagship plan.
